I am overwhelmed with thoughts of the strange and unfamiliar containing forces I will not be equipped to handle. It is difficult to articulate what I am ultimately afraid of, but I long for a sense of security and seek respite from emotions I do not fully understand. These insecurities have led me to create enameled handheld objects that contain reflections of my uneasy state. The familiar becomes manageable in my hand, able to be contemplated, clutched, and tucked away.
