description:
|
I use furniture to communicate my history, my immediate experiences, and my psyche. I am drawn to unique altered woods, such as weathered woods, cracked woods, and woods with dramatic figure. I am interested in manifesting something that is familiar and intuitive, but has nontraditional aspects that are expressive, offering metaphor toward feelings or emotional events. This reflects how I view myself through my chosen medium of wood, seeing how far I can push structural and aesthetic qualities of damaged, unsuitable and/ or difficult material and still have it remain functional.
