This work reflected on a lot where an apartment building once stood but had been bulldozed for no apparent reason. Cronin created 144 house-like structures and fired them at a temperature lower than what was "customary" so the structures would not be solid or permanent. Each house was crumbling to a different degree. "I discovered that their fragility spoke more about strength than about weakness. I wanted these houses to capture the idea that things are falling apart all the time, everywhere but this does not mean that we need to remove or avoid them." - Maura Cronin
