As Becker puts it, "#87 is intended to address the visual synthesis of old and new that my thoughts as an artist revolve around. Where a fragment of drywall meets waxed cloth, the current and ancient are united. To this union I apply graffiti, pigment, paper and wax in order to allude to the history of mark making from ancient Cave Paintings to names scrawled only yesterday on a bathroom wall."
