". . . Sketch# 1 and Sketch #2 reach towards abstraction becoming examples rather than expressions of personal growth. Both pieces began from a process of making paper circles involving imperfection and repetition while the crinkling sound and texture of the material enhanced my enjoyment of the immediacy of the results. Each are constructed from tom strips of tracing paper, reformed by gluing the strips together along their edges. Sketch # 1 engages the viewer through it's dark, tunneling, circular pattern and its allusion to space floating on the wall. Sketch #2 is just the opposite, its off-white bowl form holding space and resting on the floor. They are both substantial forms teased by the delicate nature of their translucent material."
