Awkward Eats is a table setting where each element of the place setting is tied to another element of a different setting at the table requiring users to communicate with their neighbor and ask for help. This piece rests on top of a collaged tablecloth where portions are hand painted with layers of screen-printed patterns sewn on top; there are tactile details embroidered throughout using a variety of threads and yarns. This piece is designed for individuals who are not familiar with one another.
