Linan Chen was born and raised in Hangzhou, China. He majored in Visual Communication during his undergraduate study and graduated with a BFA from Shanghai Institute of Visual Art in 2016. Linan’s typeface design considers a wide range of elements. Linan believes that design is an absorption-explosion process, in which he transforms inspirations into design projects. He is currently pursuing his MFA in Visual Design with a focus on Graphic Design at UMass Dartmouth.
