STATEMENT My work explores concepts of domesticity and grandeur. Utilizing visual metaphors that are either cliché or obscure, I juxtapose social expectation with desire and absurdity. I use elements of repetition such as pattern or recurring objects to emphasize a sense of psychological drama. Characters are bold but vulnerable. As if on stage, they are contained by their environment and overwhelmed. Working and overworking the imagery, I expose a history, a greater narrative that originates as common but evolves to something more remarkable and intimately immense.
