description:
Earthenware pots in abstract shapes, some with glaze and some without (beeswax and lead glaze is used). The work is inspired by salsa music, rhythms of touch and shifting through the motions of the dance. The artist states that in this dance and in other aspects of her life, she experiences "unexpected moments of intuitive clarity that can appear as if from nowhere." Inspiration is also found through artists such as Gustavo Perez and international techniques. The artist is interested in simplicity, sensuality, and subtly. The vessels she creates imply movement, protection, and containment.
