description:
This painting is composed of at least two dozen layers of thin oil paint, applied with non-traditional tools. It references the two worlds of land and sea touching at an uneven border, and suggests coastal erosion. The uneven border suggests a constant state of transition and the place where change occurs. The image uses the watery depths as a metaphor for going deep into ones own mind, and being lost in a dangerous tangle of the unknown.
